Helmed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the story follows DSP Ridwaan Shafi Sayyed. Manav Kaul plays this character. He is an honest and duty-bound police officer with a traumatic past. Ridwaan is transferred to the fog-laden town of Baramulla along with his family.
The place is popular for its scenic beauty yet has roots in local history and folklore. The peace of the town is broken when children start disappearing under mysterious circumstances. And now it’s up to Ridwaan to decipher what exactly is going on.
The film blends a crime thriller with psychological tension and supernatural elements. As Ridwaan goes out and investigates, he finds the disappearances are related to a mixture of local prejudice and political tension. And then there are ancient secrets buried deep in the community.
Ridwaan and his family move into a colonial-era house with its own history of mysterious happenings. There they experience inexplicable occurrences. There are haunting footsteps echoing through empty rooms. And there is an unseen presence that lurks in corners, and even the faint scent of a dog that isn’t there.
He initially dismisses his family’s fears, attributing them to imagination, but soon finds himself, as the events worsen, confronting not only the mysteries of Baramulla but also his inner darkness, as the line between reality and the unknown begins to blur.
The cast of the film adds to this grim story. Apart from Manav Kaul, Bhasha Sumbli plays the role of his wife, Gulnaar Sayyed. Arista Mehta and Rohaan Singh are his children, Noorie and Ayaan, respectively. The other main actors in the film are Mir Sarvar as Ansari, Ashwini Koul as Khalid, Vikas Shukla as Shaukat.
The location Baramulla is a district in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir that lies along the Jhelum River. Rich in history, the town has ancient Buddhist stupas, temples and monasteries.
